Few Steps From Home is not just a Rescue, Foster, and Adopt out Rescue Group. We are here to save animals and make sure they have the love, attention, and living environment they deserve for their entire life! Below are stories of fur-babies that have been taken in by the rescue for special training, temporary housing due to a housing issue with their human family, or permanent living due to health/behavioral needs:
Hi! I'm Rosie. My family expanded with a new baby and my family wasn't too sure it would work out with all of us under one roof. Thankfully they contacted Few Steps From Home. My family really loves me but I needed the extra attention and training that my humans didn't have the time for with all the crying and having to take care of that awful smell coming from my human sibling's butt! Guess what though? The people at Few Steps From Home have just as much love for me. With a face like this can you blame them? They've been working diligently with me and I'm almost ready to show my family what I've learned! It is not changing that stinky butt. Arff! Arff! Arff! I am getting so excited!
Roy here! I am so grateful for Few Steps From Home! These people have true animal love. They rescued me from Genesee Animal Control at the last minute and literally saved my life! I guess that's why I love my rescuer so much. I am a very difficult boy and have been working really hard on my behavior since Winter 2015. I had a really good 3 month stretch with my male trainer but my physical limitations make me a "hard case". You see I am completely blind and partially deaf which makes me that much more challenging to train . I am determined to keep working hard every day with these wonderful people, but if I can't get past my issues I know I will live the rest of my life here, safe, in a comfortable environment where they understand and love me unconditionally!
